Kitchen Renovations in Essex
A kitchen is the room people spend the most time in and the room most likely to be laid out badly. We do full kitchen renovations across Havering, whether that is stripping out and refitting the room you have or taking a wall out to make one decent space out of two poky ones. Because we are builders rather than fitters, the structural side and the finish are the same job by the same people.

More than swapping the units
Plenty of kitchen companies will sell you units and send a fitter. That works fine if the room is already the right shape. The moment you want the sink somewhere else, a wall gone or the boiler moved, you need a builder, and you need the trades to talk to each other.
We take the room back to brick where it needs it, move the services to suit the layout you actually want rather than the one the old pipework dictated, then plaster, floor, fit and finish. You can buy your units wherever you like and we will fit them, or we will point you at suppliers we know deliver on time.
Knocking through to open plan
Taking out the wall between a kitchen and a dining room is one of the most common jobs we do, and it transforms a house more than almost anything else for the money. If the wall is load-bearing it needs a steel and a calculation to size it, and it needs building control sign-off.
We work out early whether that wall is holding anything up, get the beam sized properly and price the job with the steel in it, so the steel is in the quote from the start rather than a surprise halfway through.
How long you will be without a kitchen
We will not pretend it is painless. A full kitchen renovation typically means three to five weeks without a working kitchen, longer if a wall is coming out. What we can do is tell you accurately when that window starts, so you can set up a kettle and a microwave somewhere sensible.
We work in a sequence that gets the water and the cooker back on as early as it sensibly can be, rather than leaving the whole room dead until the last day.
Three proper sit-downs before any work starts, so the layout, the materials and the price are settled before a tool comes out.

Kitchen Renovations: common questions
Can you fit a kitchen I have bought myself?
Yes, and plenty of our customers do exactly that. Buy the units wherever you get the best deal and we will do the building work and fit them. We will check the plan over first and flag anything that will not work in the space.
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
A straight refit is usually around three weeks. Add a knock-through, a steel or moving the services and it stretches to five or six. Your quote comes with a programme so you know which one you are looking at.
Do I need permission to remove a wall?
Not planning permission in most cases, but if the wall is load-bearing it is a building-regulations job and needs a properly sized steel and sign-off. If it is a party wall you may also need to notify the neighbour. We work all that out before we quote.
Do you handle the electrics and plumbing?
Yes. Moving sockets, adding lighting circuits, relocating the sink or the boiler and running the gas for a hob are all part of the job and are covered in the quote rather than left for you to arrange.
Thinking about a project?
Tell us what you have in mind and we will come out, take a proper look and give you a clear written quote before you decide anything.
