Builders in Rainham
Rainham is home. We are based here, most of our reviews are from jobs within a few streets of the yard, and it is where we know the houses best, from the older streets around the village to the estates out towards Wennington and South Hornchurch.

The houses in Rainham
Most of Rainham is 1930s and post-war semis and terraces, with the older village streets around the church and Rainham Hall and newer estates filling in the gaps since. The typical house has a decent garden, a kitchen at the back that is smaller than the family living in it, and a roof with room in it.
That is why the work here is mostly rear extensions that open the kitchen up, dormer lofts that add a bedroom and an en-suite without losing the garden, and full kitchen and bathroom refits in houses that have not been touched since the last owner.
Planning in Rainham
Rainham sits in the London Borough of Havering, so any application goes to Havering Council. A lot of single-storey rear extensions and rear dormers can be done under permitted development without a full application, and we tell you at the first visit which side of that line your job is on.
Being based here means we are on site early, and a return visit after sign-off is a short drive rather than a favour.
A local team, not a national one
Around Rainham we also cover South Hornchurch, Elm Park, Wennington, Dagenham and the surrounding area. Planning applications go to Havering Council, and we handle them as part of the job.
- The same team on your Rainham job, start to finish
- Three sit-down consultations before any work begins
- Stage payments across the project, so you pay as the work is done
- Clear written quotes with nothing hidden in them
- Fully insured, and tidy on site
“I had an opportunity to use this builder when I did my dormer extension which was recently completed in Rainham. … Their communication and professionalism are top notch. They carried me along on all that pertains to the extension. … I am really happy with the work that was completed and happy that I went with them. I will definitely use them again.”

Building in Rainham: common questions
Do I need planning permission for a rear extension in Rainham?
Often not. A single-storey rear extension on a semi or terrace can extend up to 3 metres under permitted development, or up to 6 metres through the prior approval route, as long as it stays within the height and boundary rules. Anything larger, two-storey or on a corner plot is more likely to need a full application to Havering Council. We will tell you which at the first visit.
How quickly can you come out and look at a job in Rainham?
Usually within the week. We are based in Rainham, so a first visit is a short drive rather than a day out, and we can normally fit it around the job we are already on.
Do you do the whole job or just the building work?
The whole job. Groundworks, structural work, roofing, plastering, electrics and plumbing through to the decorating, kitchen or bathroom fit, all run by us. You get one written quote and one team to talk to from the first visit to the final walk-round.
