Bathroom Renovations in Essex
A bathroom is a small room with a lot going on behind the walls, which is why a cheap one shows itself within two years. We strip back, sort the pipework and the substrate, tank anything that gets wet and tile onto something solid. It is the sort of job people leave us reviews about, because the finish is the part you look at every morning.

The part you cannot see is the part that matters
Most bathroom failures are not tiling failures, they are what is underneath. Boards that flex, a shower tray bedded badly, no tanking behind the tiles, a waste with not enough fall on it. It all looks fine on handover day and then it does not.
We take the room back, make the floor and the walls solid, tank the wet areas properly and set the falls before a single tile goes on. It costs a bit more in labour at the start and it is the reason the room still looks right in ten years.
Walk-in showers and wet rooms
Walk-in showers are what most people ask for now, and they are a good deal more involved than dropping in a tray. A proper wet room means a fully tanked floor and walls, the floor formed to fall towards the drain, and a waste that will actually shift the water.
Done right you get a room that is easier to clean and easier to use as you get older. Done badly you get water in the ceiling below. We will talk you through which of the two you are buying and what each one costs.
Squeezing in an en-suite
En-suites are usually a question of where the soil pipe can go and whether the room you are stealing the space from still works afterwards. A loft en-suite adds the extra question of head height over the shower.
We plan those constraints first, because an en-suite that ruins the bedroom it came out of is not a win. Often a small rearrangement of the doorway or the wardrobe wall gets you both.
Three proper sit-downs before any work starts, so the layout, the materials and the price are settled before a tool comes out.

Bathroom Renovations: common questions
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
A typical full bathroom refit takes around two to three weeks from strip-out to finished. A wet room or an en-suite going into a room that did not have one before takes a little longer.
Can I choose my own tiles and sanitaryware?
Of course. Most people enjoy that part. Tell us what you have picked and we will check it works with the space and the pipework, then fit it. If you would rather we sourced it, we can do that too.
Will I be without a bathroom the whole time?
If it is your only bathroom, we plan the work to keep the disruption as short as we can and we tell you honestly which days the room is out of action. Where there is a second toilet in the house it is far easier.
Do you do wet rooms and level-access showers?
Yes. Both need the floor tanking and forming to fall properly, which is a building job rather than a fitting job, and it is exactly the sort of thing we do.
